Intermittent Fasting:
I’ve been doing this on and off for about 2 months now. I’ve lost a little bit of weight, and honestly I feel a lot more focused during the day when I fast.
My Fasting schedule is usually the 16:8, Fasting for 16 hours, eating window 8.
During the eating window, I usually have 1 meal and 2 snacks, this works out great.
During the fasting window, I’ll have 2 sometimes 3 cups of coffee. Now, the intermittent fasting “rules” are only black coffee and water. I do it a little differently.
I will add zero carb, zero sugar heavy whipping cream ( just a splash) and sometimes a little stevia to my coffee. If this prolongs the fast, I think it’s ok.
I read a book by Jorge Cruise called “The Cruise control diet”. In this book Jorge Talks about cheating the fast by incorporating things that don’t spike your insulin thus, extending the fast. These things are usually fat, Such as heavy whipping cream or “bullet proof” butter coffee. The theory being that fat is satiating and allows you to continue fasting for more hours.
Anything over 16 hours puts you in a state of autophagy.
In the state, the body is able to discard old diseased cells and make way for new ones to grow.
